Taking of the Berghof

May 5 to 8 1945: The 101st Airborne Division’s 506th PIR enters Berchtesgaden and attacks the Berghof, Adolf Hitler’s luxurious personal residence, his infamous “eagle nest”. The 101st Airborne Division then settles between Germany and Austria as occupation army.
